Super regionals field is set
The final 16 teams are set for the 2026 NCAA baseball tournament.
Thrilling matchups rained in from all across the country from Friday to Sunday, as each day witnessed at least two extra inning battles and six regionals went to a winner-take-all Game 7. Seven national seeds, including No. 1 UCLA and No. 2 Georgia Tech, were eliminated, and two four seeds are still alive entering the super regionals for the first time ever.
Now, it’s on to the next stage: super regionals. Games will run from Friday, June 5 to Monday, June 8, with a spot in the Men’s College World Series at stake.
Before schedules are determined, here are the matchups.
- No. 1 Georgia (3) vs. No. 1 Mississippi State (14)
- No. 1 Texas (6) vs. No. 1 Oregon (11)
- No. 1 Auburn (4) vs. No. 2 Ole Miss
- No. 1 North Carolina (5) vs. No. 2 Southern California
- No. 1 Alabama (7) vs. No. 4 St. John’s
- No. 1 Kansas (15) vs. No. 2 Oklahoma

- No. 3 Troy vs. No. 4 Litte Rock
🏆 AUBURN REACHES SUPERS
No. 4 Auburn has completed the comeback, prevailing in the winner-take-all matchup against Milwaukee, 8-3.
They are the only national seed to win their regional after losing their regional opener, beating NC State, UCF and Milwaukee twice.
Chase Fralick starred once again, hitting his sixth home run of the regionals to ignite the Tigers' five-run sixth to take a 7-2 lead. The Panthers, who beat Auburn in the regional opener, weren't able to keep their historic season alive, scoring just four runs in the two regional final games.
The Tigers will welcome in SEC foe Ole Miss in the super regionals for a spot in the MCWS.
🏆 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA REACHES SUPERS
The Trojans are heading to the super regionals for the first time since 2005, silencing No. 12 Texas A&M for the straight game and winning 7-1.
Southern Cal orchestrated an offensive clinic in Game 1 of the regional final, blowing by the Aggies 14-3 — emblematic of its previous two games where they won 19-6 and 15-4 in the loser's bracket. They only needed half of Game 1's run total to finish job, riding their momentum and leaning on their pitching staff, which gave up just one run on six hits, alongside Augie Lopez’s three-run homer in the seventh.
They will trek even farther East next weekend to Chapel Hill to face No. 5 North Carolina in the super regionals.
🏆 WEST VIRGINIA REACHES SUPERS
No. 16 West Virginia’s Armani Guzman walked off Kentucky in extra innings of Game 7, 6-5, to punch its ticket to the super regional.
It’s the second straight exhilarating night in Morgantown. WVU came back to beat the Wildcats on Sunday behind a five-run ninth to force Monday’s game, and coincidentally, held off Kentucky a day later after their four-run eighth to tie it.
Knotted up 5-5 in the 10th, West Virginia put runners on first and second with zero outs, and two batters later, Guzman laced a single to center to win it.
WVU now heads to its third straight super regional and will host Cal Poly.
🏆 TROY REACHES SUPERS
The Troy Trojans are headed to the super regionals for the first time in program history, knocking off No. 8 Florida in back-to-back regional final meetings.
It was an offensive overload that lifted Troy to uncharted territory, pouring on 26 runs across the two contests — 10 in the winner-take-all affair. They scored the bulk of it in the latter innings, plating five in the sixth and three in the eighth. Eight different players recorded a run.
The victory sets up an intriguing super regional matchup between the Trojans and four seed Little Rock, who won the Hattiesburg Regional.
🏆 OKLAHOMA REACHES SUPERS
Dayton Tockey and Oklahoma walked-off the No. 2 national seed.
The Sooners rallied from a four-run deficit to stun No. 2 Georgia Tech, 8-7, as Tockey hit a walk-off homer in the 10th inning after tying the game in the bottom of the ninth.
Georgia Tech scored 22, 9, 8 and 7 runs in the Atlanta regional but blew an 8-2 lead on Sunday before coughing up Monday's advantage.
The Sooners will now take on No. 15 Kansas in the supers.
🏆 ST. JOHN'S REACHES SUPERS
Another No. 4 seed in the regionals is off to the supers.
St. John's beat No. 10 national seed Florida State 5-4 on Monday to win the Tallahassee regional and move on to the supers against No. 7 Alabama.
Adam Agresti had the biggest hit of the night for St. John's flipping the score from 2-0 down to 4-2 up on one swing with a fifth-inning grand slam.
Florida State later got a pair in the ninth to cut it to 5-4, but a strike out with the tying run on ended the threat.
🏆 LITTLE ROCK REACHES SUPERS
The first four seed has stamped its name in the super regionals.
Little Rock won the Hattiesburg Regional, downing three seed Jacksonville State in back-to-back days, to go 3-0 in the program’s historic weekend.
Anytime the Gamecocks punched, the Trojans jabbed back. Little Rock raced out to a 3-0 lead in the third, and after Jacksonville State plated two in the fourth, the Trojans tacked on another in the fifth. It occurred later in the game as well, where the Gamecocks scored a run and Little Rock put two more across in the eighth.
It will be the Trojans first super regionals appearance.
They will face the winner of the Gainesville Regional, which will be decided in No. 8 Florida and Troy’s winner-take-all duel on Monday.
🏆 OREGON REACHES SUPERS
No. 11 Oregon swept the Eugene Regional, claiming its spot in the super regionals for the third time in the last four seasons.
The Ducks were flawless over the weekend, first drubbing Yale 14-2, then shutting out Washington State 4-2 and finally holding Oregon State to one run in the regional final. They beat the Beavers 4-1 behind a three-run seventh inning.
Oregon will head to Austin, TX, next weekend to face No. 6 Texas for what could be the most exciting super regional of the field.
🏆 CAL POLY REACHES SUPERS
Cal Poly is the second non-national seed to punch its ticket to the super regionals, eliminating Saint Mary’s, 5-2.
It marks the school’s first super regionals appearance.
They accomplished the feat behind a four-run sixth inning thanks to a solo home run by Ryan Tayman and Gavin Spiridonoff’s three-run blast a few batters later. They will play the winner of the Morgantown Regional, which will be decided on Monday in No. 16 West Virginia and Kentucky’s Game 7 meeting.
🏆 OLE MISS REACHES SUPERS ON WALK-OFF
Ole Miss’ Dom Decker helped lead four seed Murray State to first ever super regional and Men’s College World Series appearance in the 2025 NCAA tournament, a story for the ages in college baseball.
A year later, the junior lifted Ole Miss to the supers through his extra inning, walk off sacrifice fly to beat Arizona State, 5-4.
They become the first non-national seed to reach the next round.
The Rebels and Sun Devils didn’t give each other any separation in both meetings — the first being a 14-inning marathon on Friday. Today, neither team held a lead over one run for more than an inning. Ole Miss broke through in the 10th, getting runners on first and third with one out before Decker called ball game with the sac fly to left.
